AS and A Level Results

Congratulations to our senior students who have recently received their public examination results.

At I/GCSE an impressive 61.8% of all entries were awarded an A* and 86.3% received either an A* or an A. This compares very favourably with the average of 32% A* grades announced recently by the Independent Schools Council in the UK and with the 6.8% for the UK as a whole. We are delighted that no fewer than 25 of our 66 Year 11 students achieved eight or more passes at A*, with nine students having achieved ten or more A* passes apiece.

At AS level 66.1% of the grades were at grade A, the highest grade available at this level and the pass rate was a very pleasing 100%.

At A-level, there was also an overall pass rate of 100%, and an outstanding 22.5% of all grades were at A*, which recognises the very top tier of performance in each subject. Only Over half the grades (52.6%) were at A* or A. Six students achieved a superb three or more A* grades at A level. Our graduating students are now starting their tertiary studies at prestigious universities around the world and we wish them every success as they embark on this next exciting stage of their lives.

In recognition of the quality of their overall performance, two GSIS students have been awarded distinguished local scholarships to study at Oxbridge. Keith Chan has been awarded a Jardine’s Scholarship to study at Oxford, and Willis Chow has been awarded the Prince Philip Scholarship to study at Cambridge.

These results for our senior students are excellent and reflect all the hard work invested by the students and the support from their teachers and parents.
