Musical talents are mostly needed, where a Glee club will be formed, and we will be performing in several fundraising activities and entertaining those who don’t get the chance to go to concerts! Not to mention, there are regular art activities where the products of artjamming or pottery etc. are donated towards a good cause! Also, join photography contests to help raise awareness for various often neglected issues.
BuildSocii
BuildSocii aims to relieve social issues in Hong Kong. Where better to begin charity work than right here where we live? This year we are running the AIGE scheme – Aid for the Aged. Activities include volunteering at elderly homes, debating and discussing issues at regular meetings, organizing social events, raising awareness and participating in interschool fundraising activities.
CARE
Founded in 2005, the CARE Society is one of our school’s largest and oldest service groups. We offer a diverse range of different external activities throughout the school year. Our volunteers develop sound communication skills by interacting with different members of our society and gain a strong feel of satisfaction from contributing to the community. All the activities we provide are unique and help numerous different causes, ranging from local charities such as Home of Love, to international charities like UNICEF.
Cow’s Home
Hong Kong’s rapid urban development over the past few decades has caused the abandonment of many cows by farmers who had to sell their land. To prevent the cows from being put down, Cows’ Home was founded to provide a sanctuary for these gentle creatures that have done so much for us. Volunteers need to help with preparing the feed, grass cutting, cleaning up, etc.
EPC
EPC stands for the Environmental Protection Club, and focuses on environmental concerns such as wetland protection, reforestation and so on. Our activities this year include a Walk for the Harbour, tree-planting, a brand new dog-walking activity and more.
Eyeris
Eyeris is a charity with an aim to aid those visually impaired. It was the biggest service group last school year, that raised over $100,000 from one event and we have high expectations for this year’s upcoming events. Activities include service events such as reading to the blind, clerical work at Orbis Headquarters and many more that will be organised in the near future.
Give Them Hope
Give Them Hope will help various charity groups such as the Heep Hong Society, the Hong Kong Christian Society and the Hong Kong Society for the Aged. Regular volunteering sessions to teach English and spending time with the Elderly in the Hong Kong Christian Society will be organised. Furthermore, flag-selling and charity ticket selling events will be also organised.
Heart2Heart
Heart2Heart believes in lending a helping hand to those who are less fortunate and do not have the same opportunities as we do, regardless of their age, sex or race. Through Heart2Heart, not only will you be able to organise charity events, but also help and interact with those in need. Events will be held through Salvation Army and KELY Support Group.
Interact
Interact aims to create a more well-rounded person through leadership and service activities. We organise events in and outside of school. Through fun and experience, you can become a better person! There is a combination of in school activities such as Selling Valentine’s Day Roses, Selling Santa Hats and Mentor Mentee; and a combination of out of school activities such as Teaching English at Ap Lei Chau Kai Fong Primary School, tutoring underpriveged children, handing out food at St. Barnabas, helping the Youth and Elderly at St. James’ Settlement, and aiding the mentally challenged at the Caritas Center. Lastly, we will have a Volunteer Training Scheme where you can undergo Leadership training so that you can lead both CARE and INTERACT activities in the future.

Mission Vision’s goal is to help the blind of Hong Kong and around the world through various fun yet educational activities. Activities include various joint school activities with Ebenezer Home and School for the Visually Impaired.
Rescue.HK
Rescue.HK is a charity dedicated to helping the poor and needy of Hong Kong, one at a time. We aim to go around different areas of Hong Kong once every week to bring simple food and water to, and perhaps chat with beggars, homeless, cardboard ladies, anyone that looks like they are in need. Generally, we go Wednesdays and Thursdays 4 PM to 6 PM. We hit up Sheung Wan, Central, Wanchai, Causeway, basically wherever. Our times are super flexible, so if we have enough people, we’ll go whenever.
S.H.A.R.E.
S.H.A.R.E. aims to aid new immigrants and ethnic minorities fit into the community. Through fun activities like making dumplings and lanterns, we teach the children more about Chinese culture. Throughout the school year, we will also provide basic tutorials for Chinese, English and Maths. There will also be some second hand drives or fund-raising to supply them with educational materials.
Somaly Mam Foundation
Every year, 1-2 million women and children in Cambodia alone are kidnapped from their homes, forced into terrible situations, and then made to work in brothels until they die. This means that 1 in 40 young girls can expect to be stolen from their homes and forced to live lives of horror. This has become a billion dollar industry in Cambodia, and it is nothing more than simple slavery. And even though this issue exists on such a large scale, relatively few people around the world even know the slightest thing about this crime against humanity. The Somaly Mam Foundation rescues victims from the heinous crime of human trafficking within South-east Asia, particularly within Cambodia and Vietnam.
