Festivals & Celebrations in the Kindergarten

Print

The annual highlights in Kindergarten consist of the different seasonal and traditional festivals, each child’s birthday and other project-related celebrations. These are prepared cooperatively with the children and celebrated together. Through working together as a team the children become involved in the celebrations and learn about the background, customs and traditions of the festivals.

THROUGH THE COURSE OF THE YEAR WE CELEBRATE:
September Chinese Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival
November St Martin’s Festival
(Lantern Festival)
December St. Nikolaus
Christmas
January/February Chinese New Year
Carnival
March/April Easter
May Mother’s Day
June International day of the child
Dragon Boat Festival

Special Events

  • Open Day
  • KPR evening
  • Orientation Day for new parents
  • Graduation Ceremony (English Stream)/ Year End Celebration (German Stream)

We celebrate a variety of festivals from around the world. Depending on the national background of the children we will include some additional celebrations like: Halloween, Diwali, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanks Giving

Parents are invited to come in and talk about festivals which are special to their families.
