Campus Development Plan
Building projects at GSIS
In 2008, the Boards of GSIS developed a Campus Development Plan to extend and upgrade its facilities. The goal is to optimise the space for the size of the existing student body and facilitate future curricular requirements. In 2007, GSIS was awarded a second campus at 162 Pok Fu Lam Road, and the first phases of the plan were subsequently realized between 2008 and 2010. With the Kindergarten now enjoying their new permanent home in Pok Fu Lam, the vision is that the Primary Departments will exclusively occupy the Upper Building at the Peak, while the Lower and Middle Buildings will house the Secondary Departments, providing them with facilities suitable for modern learning methods.
Phase I (completed in 2008)
Phase I saw the addition of modern Art Studios on a newly built sixth floor of the Middle Building.
Phase II (completed in 2010)
Phase II involved the refurbishment of the Pok Fu Lam campus, which became the permanent home of the Kindergarten and a temporary home for the Lower Primary (DVOR-K01 and Y01-Y02) in August 2010. The relocation of these two departments allowed for the relocation and enlargement of the senior library at the Peak campus (an intermediate step towards library plans in Phase III); an additional science room; and the refurbishment of the cafeteria.
Phase III (scheduled for completion 2014)
Phase III focuses on the renovation and refurbishment of the Middle Building. It will include the addition of a new gymnasium, cafeteria, black-box theatre, music classrooms, IT facilities, classrooms and a new, modern senior library. The existing swimming pool will also be relocated and converted for year-round use. During this time, the Upper Primary (K02-K04 and Y03-Y06) will temporarily relocate to a decanting campus in Wan Chai for a period of up to four years.

Phase IV (scheduled for 2014-15)
Renovation of Lower Building
Phase V (scheduled for 2015-17)
Renovation of Upper Building
Phases IV and V will completely modernize the facilities and offer the benefits of enhancing organizational efficiency in terms of students’ timetables, minimizing the time taken for students to get to their next class. It will also allow appropriate resources and staff to be positioned in subject-clusters for ease of access.
Wan Chai Decanting School
The Board of the GSIS Foundation Ltd has secured a private decanting site at 30 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai. The campus has a school hall, library, special purpose rooms, as well as other appropriate amenities that will meet the needs of our Upper Primary Departments.
The entire Primary section of both streams is expected to have moved back to the Peak by 2016, when all renovation works are scheduled for completion.
