The Peak Campus

In addition to providing dedicated areas for the Primary and Secondary Departments, the revamped Peak campus will have a cafeteria, a bigger Senior Library, a second gym and additional teaching space.

This will require decanting our Primary Departments to off-site locations for the duration of the construction works.

The Pok Fu Lam Campus

GSIS has been allocated a second campus in Pok Fu Lam, which, from August 2010, will become the permanent home for both streams of the Kindergarten and a temporary home for the Lower Primary (DVOR-K01 and Y01-Y02).

Given the traffic and access issues that arise at this second campus, GSIS will require all students to use school buses. In accepting and enforcing a school bus policy, GSIS will play a pioneering role among international schools in Hong Kong.

The Board of the GSIS Foundation Ltd has secured a private decanting site at 30 Oi Kwan Road, Wanchai, which will temporarily house both streams of the Upper Primary (K02-K04 and Y03-Y06) from August 2012 for a period of up to four years. The Wanchai site has a school hall, library, special purpose rooms, as well as other appropriate amenities that will meet the needs of our Upper Primary Departments.

The entire Primary section of both streams is expected to have moved back to the Peak by 2016, when all renovation works are scheduled for completion.

Der umgebaute und erweiterte Hauptstandort auf dem Peak wird außer räumlich getrennten Grundschul- und Sekundarstufenabteilungen eine Schulkantine, eine größere Sekundarstufenbibliothek, eine weitere Turnhalle sowie zusätzlichen Unterrichtsraum umfassen. Für die Dauer der Erweiterungsarbeiten wird die Grundschule ausgelagert.

Die Schule in Pok Fu Lam

Der GSIS ist ein zweiter Standort am Rande der Dorfsiedlung in Pok Fu Lam zugewiesen worden, den wir ab August 2010 dauerhaft für die beiden Zweige unseres Kindergartens sowie vorübergehend für die Vorschul- und unteren Grundschulklassen (DVOR-K01 und Y01-Y02) nutzen können.

Angesichts der Verkehrs- und Zufahrtsbedingungen an diesem Standort ist die Schulbusbenutzung für alle Schüler verpflichtend. Mit dieser Verpflichtung übernehmen wir eine Vorreiterrolle unter den internationalen Schulen in Hongkong.

Dem Vorstand der GSIS Association Ltd ist es gelungen, ab August 2012 eine private Ausweichschule (30 Oi Kwan Road) in Wanchai für die Klassen K02-K04 sowie Y03-Y06 unserer beiden Grundschulzweige zu finden. Die Schule umfasst eine Aula/Sporthalle, eine Bibliothek sowie Fachräume und andere grundschulgemäße Einrichtungen.

Die gesamte Grundschule beider Zweige wird voraussichtlich 2016 nach Abschluss der Bauarbeiten auf den Peak zurückkehren.
