Scholarships at GSIS

GSIS is a caring international school which gives back to the community we are part of. Your generosity will help in funding GSIS’ scholarship programs that provide opportunities for talented, hardworking children from Hong Kong to become part of our school, overcoming the obstacles of limited financial resources.

At present we have two scholarships in place: The Mothers’ Committee Scholarship, and The GSIS Association Ltd Scholarship.

The Mothers’ Committee Scholarship

It enables a child from a family whose total monthly income of less than HK$ 35,000 to attend GSIS on a full scholarship from Form One to the end of the student’s secondary school career.

The scholarship covers:

- The cost of annual school fees of the English Secondary Stream for the duration of the child’s attendance at GSIS; and
- Expenses of compulsory extra-curricular school activities.

To be considered for this scholarship, the candidate must:

- Be a permanent resident of Hong Kong,
- Have English language fluency (with English being the medium of instruction in the English Stream),
- Show exceptional academic achievement,
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for, and involvement in, extra-curricular activities.

The GSIS Association Ltd Academic Fund

It enables a child from a German speaking family whose total monthly income does not exceed HK$ 35,000 to attend GSIS on a full scholarship from Kindergarten to Secondary School.

New Scholarships

We are always looking for donors to develop new scholarships. Providing the donation made is equal to, or exceeds, the minimum capital amount of HK$ 3.8 million, a potential donor is entitled to a personalised scholarship fund with naming rights.

If the donor so desires, activities relating to the scholarship named after the donor, will be reported periodically in GSIS publications.

For questions and queries regarding financial contributions and setting up scholarship funds and scholarships in general, kindly contact the Chief Operating Officer, Mr H-P Naef.
