Kindergarten
EKG2 2008-2009

The EKG2 has two qualified teachers and 20 students aged 4 and above. K2 hours are from 9:00 am to 12:00 am. We follow the British National Curriculum.

Language Program
The K2 Language program is phonics based. Children are taught to recognize the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make and to write them neatly using Nelson Handwriting program. Pre-reading skills are developed and sight words are used. Oral language skills are developed through creative play, story telling and Show and Tell.

Math Program
The Heineman Math program is used in K2. Our Math program is discovery based. Children will become familiar with number recognition, formation and 1-1 correspondance to 20; measurement; 2 and 3D shapes, sorting, matching; addition and subtraction to 5; money; position and movement.

Cultural Events
We celebrate a variety of festivals from around the world. Some of these have included Halloween, Diwali, German Lanternfest, Chinese New Year, Easter, St Patrick's Day and Dragon Boat. Parents are invited to come in to talk about festivals which are special to their families.

Parental Involvement
Parents are invited to be involved in a variety of school activities. Some examples of involvement are
