Community Involvement

EDEXCHANGE

EdExchange - “Community Leaders of Tomorrow” is a programme run by the Education and Manpower Bureau of Hong Kong to encourage community involvement in secondary school students. In this programme, every participating international school is paired up with a local school to propose an original community service project to be carried out during the school year 2006-2007.

GSIS in 2006-2007 paired up with two local schools – St. Paul’s Co-educational College and St. Paul’s School (Lam Tin) for community service programmes.

GSIS worked with SPSLT to help refugees at Christian Action Chungking Mansions Service Centre.

Students from SPSLT and GSIS successfully organised an outing in March to Brides Pool Country Park for the refugees from Christian Action.

With SPCC students worked together to teach children in St James Settlement, Wan Chai. GSIS Primary School kindly donated a large number of English and Mathematics book to the organisation. A trip to Ocean Park was organised for the children in April.
